E.g. current dropping below 5mA causes the connection to be terminated, power will be cut around 250ms later.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>How is isolation achieved?<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>IEEE 802.3af \u2013 2003 requires Powered Devices to be isolated between input and output (but the isolation performance is specified in EN60950).<\/li>\n<li>Silvertel can do this using a 1500V (Impulse test) isolation transformer (DC\/DC converter) and clearances under the transformer and on the PCB on the PD module.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>PSE and PD interconnection<\/u><\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>PSE must see valid signature before ouputting e.g. 48V<\/li>\n<li>The PD module provides this (25k Signature resistance)<\/li>\n<li>PD module ensures the polarity of 48V feed is correct<\/li>\n<li>PD module can signal to the PSE how much power<br \/>\nthe end equipment requires (Classification current).<\/li>\n<li>DC\/DC on the PD module converts 48V to a lower<br \/>\nvoltage to power the network equipment.<\/li>\n<li>The system must conform to the requirements<br \/>\nin e.g. IEEE Std 802.3af \u2013 2003.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>\u00a0Classification Overview<\/u><\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row full_width=&quot;stretch_row_content_no_spaces&quot;
